gwilsonGeoff Wilson is a seasoned and mature industry professional with an impressive 25 – year history of success in the European IT, Telecommunications and Software Industries. Able to demonstrate extensive experience leading new and early stage companies to design and execute pan-European growth strategies in addition to senior executive roles with a number of Europe’s major Telecommunications groups.

Wilson has extensive experience working in an early stage VC environment and is highly skilled in building and motivating effective direct and indirect Sales Channels to deliver profitable business growth across the EMEA Region. An Honours graduate in Systems and Production Engineering from Whitwood College Leeds, Wilson holds a Diploma from the Cambridge Management Institute and is graduate with Distinction from the BT Management College.

GEC / Plessey Group.

Wilson’s early career was spent with the UK electronics giant GEC as Regional Business Manager leading an aggressive growth strategy selling Office Automation products to major Corporate clients. Upon the GEC Merger with Plessey Telecommunications Wilson became a UK Regional Director with responsibility for the award winning range of public and private voice and data switching systems in to the UK major corporate market with added responsibility for a number of key emerging European markets including the Czech Republic and Hungary.

BT

In 1989 Wilson joined BT as a Senior Business Manager in the UK Major Enterprise sector. BT is the UK’s largest supplier of Telecommunications Networks, Internet Services and customer premises equipment. During this assignment he had overall Sales and General Management responsibility for two vertical market sectors – Financial Services and IT Services in the BT National Accounts group.

With responsibility for 100 sales and support staff, 700 UK enterprise customers, £100 million in revenues under management and delivering a complex service and hardware portfolio of 200 + products. In a newly liberalised market his group averaged 17% revenue growth year on year over this period. On two separate occasions in 5 years Wilson received the coveted BT Chairman’s annual achievement award.

Global One

In 1996 Wilson was appointed as UK Sales Director for the newly formed global Telecommunications company comprising the International Divisions of Sprint, Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom. Leading the largest of 60 international business units Wilson delivered the complex integration of culturally diverse human resources at the same time delivering high growth and customer acquisition of a high number of multi-national clients including Samsung, Fujitsu, Daewoo and British Airways. Throughout his tenure at Global One Wilson grew the UK business unit revenues to an annualised $300m representing 20%+ of the company income.

iPass Inc.

In early 2000 Wilson was appointed as Managing Director for EMEA for iPass Inc.At that time the company was a VC funded emerging provider of integrated software enabled Mobile Solutions across a range of wired and wireless IP connectivity options via customised client software.

The incorporation of end – point application management / remediation and mobile device and user security within the service providing significant added value to the enterprise and differentiation from competitors

Headquartered in Northern California the focus of the company was to provide solutions to a range of major enterprise and public sector clients. The remit for Geoff Wilson was to firmly establish the company in the region, deliver aggressive revenue growth, build the business infrastructure and establish a resilient and sustainable product delivery channel.

In his five year tenure Wilson achieved very impressive results growing revenues to $50 million per annum from a standing start, recruiting a high calibre team of 60 direct sales and technical support staff and over 1000 Channel Partners including VARS, ISP’s Carriers and major multi-national SI’s.

During this time Wilson managed and delivered the company’s expansion in to 40 national markets across EMEA opening company staffed offices in the UK, Germany, France, Holland, Sweden and Denmark.

Since 2005 Wilson has held senior advisory and consultancy positions in a number of early stage Technology companies on both sides of the Atlantic including:

  • Endeavors Technology Inc – US based company specialising in application streaming technologies.
  • Omnitrust Inc. – US based company specialising in post delivery content and document security software.
  • E-net Europe – UK based distributor of windows application delivery software to enterprise customers.
  • Anglo Italian Technology – European IT supplier to food manufacturing markets.
