Today Avalon Global Solutions, Inc. (AGS), and GPXS Services (GPXS) announced a major expansion of their services and geographic scope of operations through a new Joint Venture (JV), Avalon Advanced Mobility Solutions, Inc. (AAMS). The JV will combine the strengths and resources of both companies to create a global mobility management services capability for enterprise customers requiring advanced BlackBerry and smartphone managed services.
The joint venture will be lead by Scott Perry, an industry veteran who most recently was President of GPXS and running GPXS software business. The JV will become the exclusive reseller of GPXS Services AG in the North American marketplace. Avalon Advanced Mobility Solutions, Inc. will have the capability to support, with greater depth and breadth, mobility device and software management services in North America utilizing the existing distribution channels and serving the customers of AGS, and other customer segments and channel partners in the future.
“AGS and GPXS have formed a strong relationship, and this agreement is a natural extension of that relationship,” said Michael Mansouri, AGS Chairman and CEO. “In addition to its proven track record in the Mobility Industry, GPXS will provide the necessary BlackBerry and Smartphone services for AAMS to innovate and grow, which will benefit our current and future customers globally.”
“It has become increasingly clear that a strategic alliance of capabilities is essential to meet the enterprise communications needs of the 21st century,” said Jerome Mol, Chairman and CEO of GPXS, “I look forward to this partnership delivering these great services across the globe and enhancing our global presence in the fast growing Mobility communications marketplace.”
AGS is a leading provider of comprehensive Mobility Lifecycle Management Services, including Telecom Expense Management (TEM) technologies, Advanced Help Desk and robust logistics capabilities.
GPXS is a leading European provider of BlackBerry and other smartphone technology, training, and managed services.
AAMS will be responding to the expressed needs of leading organizations who have articulated the increasing critical importance of mobility devices and the software associated with those devices as a matter of corporate competitiveness. These devices are rapidly becoming a more integral part of critical business processes while the cost and operational management is becoming more difficult. More device types within a business and more complicated and capable applications are combining to make the support of these devices as challenging and critical as the support of any computing device.
Specific announcements about AAMS will be made in subsequent announcements over the next few months.
